THE CONFERENCE:
"Ignite Our Culture conference will be an annual national event for the ECP Centre," said Rev. Emmanuel, the Centre's executive director. "It is our contention that the social trends and policies that negatively impact Canadian society have largely been advanced due to the lack of meaningful opposition from Christians. It is only because there have been no tangible and viable alternatives from Christians that militant secular humanism has filled the void. The ECP Centre's vision is to reverse this trend, with tangible, measurable and sustainable projects that encourage Christians to take up the role of cultural leadership - IGNITE OUR CULTURE conference is just one of those projects," said Rev. Emmanuel.
You will learn about the "how to's" of:

SENATOR ANNE COOLS |

is a Conservative Senator from Ontario. In 1984 His Excellency Governor - General Edward Schreyer summoned her to the Senate on the advice of Rt. Hon. Pierre E. Trudeau. Senator Cools was recently given a Certificate of recognition as Canada's first black senator by Howard University's Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center in Washington, DC. She was named Real Women of Canada's 1999 Person of the Year in recognition of her outstanding contributions to promote and preserve the family. Most recently she led a courageous battle in the Senate of Canada to stop the dangerous Bill C-250. |

FATHER FRANCOIS BEYROUTI |

Father Francois Beyrouti was raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia
where he attended elementary and high school. In 1989 he entered the
Seminary of Christ the King in Mission, British Columbia, graduating in 1994
with a Bachelor of Arts. That same year he began his theological studies in
Ottawa at the Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies at Saint
Paul University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Theology in Eastern
Christian Studies, he went on to pursue a Master of Arts and Licentiate in
Theology in Sacred Scripture. Father Francois was ordained a deacon on June
29, 1997 and a priest on October 4, 1998. Upon ordination he was appointed
as the assistant pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church in
Ottawa where he continues to serve.
Academically his interest focuses on the history of the interpretation of
the Bible. He has taught a course on Christianity in the Middle East at the
Ottawa School of Theology and teaches "Hermeneutics and Exegesis in Eastern
Christianity" at the Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies at
Saint Paul University. Pastorally he is very involved in youth and family
ministry.
In 1992, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the accession of Her
Majesty Queen Elisabeth to the Throne, Father Francois was awarded the
Golden Jubilee Medal.

TRISTAN A. EMMANUEL |

is an ordained Presbyterian minister, and is the Founder and Executive Director of the ECP Centre. Rev. Emmanuel is also the author of Christophobia: The Real Reason Behind Hate Crime Legislation and he has been published in several cultural journals including, the Citizen's Report (formerly Alberta Report), The Interim (Canada's Life and Family Newspaper), The Christian Times, and in several journals and newspapers throughout the United States. Emmanuel writes as a Christian cultural apologist, defending the need and necessity for historic and comprehensive Christianity TODAY. |
